CHARA's birthday is January 13. Her hometown is Saitama, Japan. I hear her blood is AB. Her teacher nicknamed her CHARA because CHARA was restless in class and doing chara-chara when she was a student.

91.11.01 debut album "Sweet"
CHARA made her debut as a singer in 1991, and her 1st album was released "Sweet". CHARA made a first performance at Shibuya Club Quattro on December 6,1991. Inspite of first performance,that place was jammed with many audience.
92.09.01 2nd album "Soul Kiss"
In 1993 her funclub "CHARA-CLUB" started. Her first video "Kiss" was relased July,1993. CHARA held a first hall performance at Shibuya Kokaido on Oct 29,1992.
93.09.09 3rd album "Violet Blue"
Her song "Violet Blue" in 3rd album is a song which she first wrote when she was twenty years old.
94.10.10 4th album "Happy Toy"
After CHARA released 4th album "Happy Toy",she gave a concert at Nihon Budokan which is a big hole in Japan November 11,1994. The scene in this concert was strongly impressed on our memory. I hope you and many people see her singing. CHARA got married to a popular Japanese actor among Japanese young people. A radio program "Across the View" started in this time. In that program CHARA is a navigator. And their dearest child was born in 1995. Congratulations!

CHARA's 12th single "Tiny Tiny Tiny" was released July 1995. This song is a calm song for their child.
95.10.10 best album"Chara The Best -Baby Baby Baby xxx-"
CHARA's first best album "Chara The Best -Baby Baby Baby xxx-" was released in 1995. She appeared as an actress in a "Shunji Iwai" film "Picnic" and "Swalow Tail Batterfly" in 1996. In the latter she formed the band "Yen Town Band", and Glico, which name is a little girl CHARA played in the film, sang love songs. She joined as a vocalist in the unit "The 99 1/2" which guitarist Kohey Tsuchiya was leading. The 99 1/2 is releasing a single "Chara's Boogie Shoes" and an album "More (Than 100)".
97.09.21 5th album "Junior Sweet"
Junior Sweet was released Sep 1997. When fall had come, she started a live-house tour "Junior Sweet". All tickets of the tour was sold out.

"Strange Fruits" was released Mar 1999.
