The Vocal Arts Academy of Milwaukee invites youth in Grades 3–12 to join us for our fall classes.
Led by veteran instructors Emily Crocker and Charyl Granatella, our goal is to create an environment of joy, of excellence,
of encouragement and of restorative energy — a positive experience that will enhance your lives and lift up your
spirits through collective music making.
Together, Mrs. Crocker and Mrs. Granatella possess many years of experience in working with young singers and a deep
understanding of how children learn music. This experience extends from the classroom onto the concert stage and beyond.

In 2010–2011, we explored a variety of choral literature, including music by de Victoria, Praetorius, Mozart,
the Pinkham Christmas Cantata, Robert Jager’s powerful work for treble voices I Dream of Peace
and Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater as well as music by Moses Hogan, Stephen Schwartz and other lighter selections.
Our Apprentice Ensemble (grades 3–6) has performed master compositions for children’s voices, including
Randall Thompson’s Velvet Shoes, Vaughan-Williams’ Three Children’s Songs, Rollo
Dilworth’s Everlasting Melody and Emily Crocker’s The Elephant’s Child.
