André (1798), by William Dunlap (1766-1839) has the distinction of being the first American tragedy on an American subject. I have prepared a text that's free for all use. This version is more or less finalized, but I'll probably find a few errors yet. As with Double Falshood, I offer both an XHTML edition for those with working browsers, and an HTML edition for those who have to use broken browsers, such as Microsoft Internet Explorer, that still haven't caught up to supporting XHTML, even though it's been around since 2000.
As a pendant to André, I have also included XHTML and HTML versions of Anna Seward's Monody on Major André (1798).
