EMPLOYMENT TIMELINE
I took early retirement from Verizon Communications, effective January 1st, 2007.
I currently trade stock for a living, having decided that, after 16 years with the Fortune 500 as customers, 12 years in Manhattan, 4 years on Wall Street, and 4 years in Washington, D.C., I have learned enough to make a bit of money on the Stock Exchange without it being insider trading.
Apart from that, I am working on the convergence of "always connected" cellular data protocols and Enterprise networking, and am looking at teaching positions in Asia Pacific.
I consider myself privileged in having had long term in-depth exposure to the workings of the American financial industry, as well as those of the United States Federal Government. Oh, and did I mention I helped build two telephone companies from scratch? Verizon Long Distance, in Arlington, VA, and ProXL, in Jakarta, Indonesia.
